Meditation for Valentines Day

Valentines Day is one of those holidays that are either loved or loathed.

Loved if your lucky enough to have a super romantic partner and this day means you get treated and worshipped like a god/ goddess - loved perhaps if you are like me and just absolutely love chocolate and any holiday involving the sweet blissful stuff. However, I do know many people who loath this day - whether it's because they feel it can be very lonely if they are not in a relationship, or some hate the fact that we are being 'told' we need to do something special for our loved ones, which usually just means more money in store owners wallets! I personally LOVE this day! No, not because my husband is super romantic (that would be a bonus though) but because, truthfully -  Sometimes we DO need to be reminded to show those who we love that we really do care and appreciate them. I also believe there are many of you out there that do this all the time already, that's awesome! You are a great soul, and I hope we are friends. But what is wrong with having a day completely dedicated to celebrating love? Love is the greatest power on earth. The greatest motivator, the greatest healer, the greatest part of being alive!

Let us celebrate love, whether you are 'loved' up or not. This day doesn't have to be about couples only. If you are single, do something special for yourself! Get those luscious chocolates, have a fancy meal - maybe invite your friends or your family. Love isn't just a two way street. The way we love ourself is just as important if not, even more important than how we love another. If you are in a relationship, you can avoid the shops completely if that is your hang up. Make a cake from scratch or make a fancy candle lit dinner. Write a poem, even if it is only 3 lines. What ever you do, make an offering, a kind gesture and get completely connected to your heart- space. It's quite lovely in there :)

A simple meditation for valentines day.

Get comfortable. Sitting upright helps us to stay awake and focused, but you can also do this laying down.

Close your eyes and begin to connect to your breath. Observing the ebb and flow of each inhale and exhalation as it enters and leaves your body.

Inhale -visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre

Exhale- visualize this light spreading  and blanketing your whole body

Inhale - visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre.

Exhale- visualize this light spreading and blanketing the room and anyone and anything inside it

Inhale - visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre.

Exhale - visualize this light spreading and blanketing the entire neighbourhood

Inhale - visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre.

Exhale- visualize this light spreading and blanketing your entire country

Inhale - visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre.

Exhale- visualize this light spreading and blanketing all countries, all people and all living things on all continents

Inhale - visualize a warm, soft, loving light filling up your heart centre.

Exhale- visualise this light spreading and blanketing all of planet earth and beyond reaching galaxies further than we can imagine

Inhale and feel all of this love being returned back to you, nourishing and replenishing your heart centre

Exhale and smile

Inhale feel love.

Exhale be love.

Enjoy this practice,

With love from me to you xx
