I read this poem in Friday's class as we were working on strength- both inner and outer. The Dali Lama once said " Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitable will". Sometimes life/ an asana (pose) can get tough, and the easiest option would be to just give in and give up. It takes a lot of vigour to continue when the odds seem against you, but alas - you can get through it, with determination and hard work anything is possible. Call on that inner strength from deep within - DON'T GIVE UP. x
When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.
Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.
